You are far too sweet, jazakallahu khair. As you may know, I’ve only been wearing hijab for a couple of year, alhamdulilah, and it has been the best decision I have ever made. So I heard a song the other day that objectified women in every way…the feminists are probably still rolling in their graves. They reduce people to parts, objects to be acquired and turn hearts and minds into mere things to be desired. And as parts of my body were assessed and sized, I thought, what a way to be dehumanized.

Salaams,

First and foremost when I feel like I’m hitting rock bottom I turn to God in prayer. I make duas in sujood because that is when we are closest to Allah swt. I don’t know why, but I normally don’t like to talk about it with other people. I try to listen to some lectures, or often I listen to spoken word by Boonaa and that usually makes me feel a little closer to God. Another good thing to do is to try and surround yourself with pious, righteous people. Being amongst people like that usually have such an awesome affect on a person’s mood, and being in those types of gathering bring peace to one’s heart.

Just remember that our imaan is like a roller coaster and we all go through our ups and downs. The most important thing is to always turn to Him for guidance, because He is the only one that can help.
